Thanks for the info - how about $25 ppd then, for the book?
Correction: it's 7.5x5x1", not 'trade' size. What was I thinking?!
Not, of course ...

****************

to Hue: there's hundreds of names listed - your stranded Guadalcanal
ship might be a destroyer escort (about half the tonnage of a reg'lar
destroyer), a Minelayer (about the same size), a Torpedo 'Boat', etc.
Most had names, but some just numbers - examples:
The Hayate was sunk off Wake Is. in the initial Dec, 1941 attacks.
Kunashiri was stranded off Cape Omaesake in June '46 while trying to
rescue another ship post-war.
Wakaba, and three more in the Asahio class, were lost in the Battle of
Leyte Gulf.
all Mutsuki-class ships were lost near the Solomons in '42-'43

The big ships get all the 'noise', but navies usually have dozens of
littler ones for every big-gun: only about 20 battleships were actually
constructed, according to this book.
