In case it's of interest, I'll note that the part number suggests the pots were made for Western
Electric.  "KS" stands for "Kearney Standard", after WECo's facility in that New Jersey town, and
"L9" was "List 9", a kind of sub-type designation.

KS part numbers were assigned to goods made by outside suppliers to Bell System specifications.  The
range of KS items was enormous, covering not just electronic parts but tools, maintenance supplies
and office products.

1/4" diam shaft is 1/8" tall and designed for setting by flathead screwdriver
