[Milsurplus] BC-222 in Action

flag armband was used  during invasions ... specifically N. Africa, Sicily, 
and some in Italy and Normandy by paratroopers mostly.  Flag was supposed to 
tell the " friendly " French  N. Africans, Italians, etc that the troop wearing 
it was American, not Brit ( who the French had some problems with after 
Taranto, etc )
