[Milsurplus] Tx Tuning on a RT-1A/APN-2 (Rebecca)

Does anyone know the genesis of the Tx tuning dial modification done by
CAE  (Canadian Aviation Electronics, Montreal) in the mid 1950s as part
of a refurb of the RT-1A Tx/Rx for the AN/APN-2 ? They removed the
original tuning control and replaced it with a micrometer.

Also, I'm still looking for the mount for a BC-929 display and C-3
Control Box. If anyone has one, please contact me off-list.
