Interesting photo indeed. The last flight i had on a C-47 () was back in
about 1966 when i flew from Germany to England and back. I don't have
any idea what model "goon" i flew in but i sat in the Radio Op's seat
which was right behind the bulkhead behind the 2nd in command seat. It
faced forward (towards the bulkhead) and contained only the BC-348 with
a handkey mounted on the desk. I don't remember where the ART-13 was at
this time but there certainly weren't any command sets in the area.
Wish i had paid more attention to the aircraft maint. log (781 series).
Oh well, what do you expect from a young airman who was having the
time of his life and that included working on front line aircraft with
Tactical Air Command (TAC) and being with a front line outfit.
Ahhhh yes, those were the days. To bad i didn't have the foresight to
pick up more equipment when the opportunity presented it.
