de WB2CPN Trivia about Costs.
About 40 or so years ago, I was in USAF, and some
bean counter thought up the idea of tagging every peice
of radio and related equipment to show the book value
at the time.[snip] Worse Part: I was with
an Active Duty friend snooping around one of their
sites last month, and I'll be darned if I didn't again see
price tags on some equipment. My friend said it was
a new idea that just came down. (All I ever learned
was "Cost Plus 10%") 73 Clete End Of Trivia.
I don't think they count beans very well. I've seen a little metal part
tagged at $117,869.53 and a piece of commercial test gear tagged ar
$53. IMO, they just make up the numbers or throw dice.
