Dave -
There was a group here in the northeast meeting down there, but
interest seems to be waning as many are back to clumping up around
3870-3885. As an Advanced, I can only go down to 3700 (3710 or so to
be safe), and even in that portion it's becoming more of a haven for
new SSB 'no traffic nets' (basically an excuse to claim ownership of a
frequency). I called CQ on 3725 last night for 20 minutes, with only
one very weak VE3 responding. Plenty of AM stations on 3880 for the
Collins net, and 3885.
Letting go of a small chunk of spectrum respected by very few is
second only to getting on the air and being active. Hopefully more
folks will become interested in operating again. Don't be afraid to
move around the phone portions and operate where ever you find a clear
frequency.
