Had the same problem in my ATC a number of years ago.   Leaky 250pf coupling 
cap into the grid of the second 1625 multiplier.   This component not easy to 
access electrically and damn near impossible to replace.  Got a few more years 
out of the original by applying 250 volts across it for several hours   (this 
works with micas sometimes),   Finally had to replace by worrying the 
connecting wire off of one side of the original cap to isolate it circuitwise and 
replacing with a new unit in an electrically equivalent connection inside the 
execiter chassis.
