The AVT-112 takes FT-243 style crystals. The AVT-15 crystal holder
is almost the size of an FT-171. When I fired off my AVT-15, I found
it had almost no power output. After some troubleshooting, found the
original 4.something crystal was bad. Subbing an FT-243 brought the
transmitter to life.

But I'm thinking the 6L6 oscillator design may be a little hard
on crystals, so I didn't go too much farther with it, like checking
modulation and FM'ing. The AVT-15 is still awaiting its turn back on
the bench.
