[Milsurplus] CU-1388, CU-5069 couplers?

Jason,

To go with an R-390A you might want to consider something like the tube-based 
CU-872 or CU-872A/U.  The NAVSHIPS on the A model dates from '62.  Rated 2-32 
MC but then so are most of the SS ones.  I can't say whether or not it would 
be as simple to open up the low freq cutoff as is the CU-1099/FRR, though.  If 
I ever light mine off again, I'm going to look into that.  

The CU-1099, which would be another good candidate (although it is SS), is 
8-output and physically a half-rack width.  It has a single high-pass filter on 
the input.  The filter is connected into the circuit inside the coupler with 
coax and if I recall correctly BNC connectors.  To bypass it only took a female 
to female connector.  One other thing on CU-1099 - if anyone comes across one 
with 4 small twinax instead of 8 BNC outputs, it was modified by a certain 
research establishment for balanced line.
