I got some books from The Military Press, 1 Gallagher Close,
Milton Keynes MK8 0LQ, UK, email militarypress at btopenworld.com
and they have a web page you can google for.  One is "The Official
History of British Sigint 1914-1945"  and being official history
is a bit tedious.

Another interesting book is "War Secrets in the Ether" by Wilhelm
F. Flicke, published by Aegean Park Press, which publishes a lot
of crypto-related material.  This book tells about what was going
on from the German side of things.

That title "The Enemy is Listening" is very pertinent, since in
Vietnam the U.S. forces for a long time transmitted voice in the
clear, in the belief that the Viet Cong couldn't intercept them,
and if they did they wouldn't understand English.  Then they
overran a Viet Cong intercept station...
