I remember about 40 years ago I had a boss who mentioned one day
that he had been reading some "sea stories" and I'm pretty sure
he said the author was an Admiral Gallery, but I don't know if
it was the same one. These stories were mainly humorous, he said.

Something about a long flight in an old PBY, and the co-pilot was
some old officer getting in his required flying hours. The pilot
went to the back of the plane and was sitting on the can while
the plane flew between two cloud layers. Then along came the Blue
Angels flying upside down, and the old co-pilot took that to mean
he was upside down and rolled the plane over.
