Dennis- i don't get your thinking on this.
The 1306/ SCR-694 is a whole different packaging. Quite a bit more modern in execution, i think.
It occurred to me just now, maybe i should do a bit of research on Rauland. Per their Radio News
ads, they seemed very proud of their new 694 set.
I think any Axis radioman who came across the BC-1306 would have been amazed. -Hue Miller
