[Milsurplus] P/S Filter

G;day... I'm in process of building a 1000V P/S for the ART-13 tx .
Conventional wisdom and literature  shows choke input filtering.
Since  suitable  component not  available and I'm not  able to get a
suitable  item, what level of ripple might one expect if choke not used  and
how obvious would it be on a rx  Assume AM being used .
 The balance of the full wave supply has 8mfd capacitor  and  bleeder of 80K
