[Milsurplus] Alexanderson alternator on Xmas eve

Interesting - I have numerous similar receivers, also made by Sylvania, but,
they are for the HF bands. I do someplace have a fair amount of
documentation on the HF units, although from what I gather they were tough
to come by. I may try listening this year for the first time. I have a 290
foot inverted vee up at 70 feet, with about 80 feet of 6 inch spaced
homemade ladder line. I figure I'll just connect the feed lines together and
then use a ground. For the receiver, I believe I am just going to use one of
my relatively modern solid state Rycom selective voltmeters. Will probably
turn off all TV and computer related equipment during the process. Good luck
to all - Mike

I've got a pair of the R-1449/WLR-6(V) receivers, so could use any
info anyone has on them.

One of the two has a strange problem with images from CW stations
just above 4 MHz coming through. The input low pass or bandpass filter
is being bypassed, somehow. Any suggestions?
