I had never thought about the degradation of those recorded disks but
that may mean the old recordings of Tokyo Rose, etc. are coming apart
but probably those have all been recorded onto another medium (not tape,
i hope ). Also serious is that there still are V-disks from GI's and maybe
broadcast programs still not recorded off such disks. I think i still have
one such disk, from a GI, maybe in a hospital, but i never tried to play
it.

I was about 20 years ago offered a German tape recorder from the Berlin
broadcast center. It came with a bunch of tapes including i was told,
tapes of Der Fuehrer's rants. I declined because of the weight of the
machine, about 150-200 lbs. However, it's interesting the extent of
mag tape recording used in the Reich compared to the USA and Allies,
who apparently used mostly disks and film-type recorders. -Hue Miller
