The Bendix loops were normally delivered in zinc chromate for customer 
refinishing, but the military mind often took over in deployed 
aircraft.  The most popular color, like the Model T Ford, appears to be 
black (presumably to reflect less light), but I have also seen photos 
with aluminum finish versions to match an unpainted fuselage.  Doubt if 
it matters much unless you're trying to match a particular squadron's 
paint scheme.
