[Milsurplus] Tuned circuit design question

If the shorting to ground, lead is short enuff, the shorted turns
are going to have minimal influence on the rest of the coil,
no?  I don't think you have to worry at all about this factor.
What you do have to worry about, is apparently you need to
calculate the coil inductance without carefully measuring its
length and turns, which is well-nigh impossible? -Hue Miller
(Not a 94-5 set, is it? )
