As I suggested several days ago, it was probably used in the same manner for the SCR-535 (Mark II IFF) as the BC-1066 was used for the SCR-595 (Mark III IFF) and SCR-695 (Mark IIIG IFF/G).

It was part of the IE-16 test set equipment.  It was *not* airborne equipment.
