Yes, it would have been much nicer had they put a tunable oscillator in it in 
addition to the crystal oscillator.  It would have only taken one, as the 
transmitter drive is derived by mixing the output of the main oscillator with a 
1600 KC oscillator.  Up to about 8800 KC the crystal is 1600 KC above the 
channel frequency.  From 8800 to 12000 it is 1600 below.

Voltages required are 1.4, 6.3, 90 and 500 (425 when using the GN-28A/U hand 
generator).  Pinouts are as follows:

A,G       +90
C,E       +6.3
D          Ground and all minus
F           +500
H          +1.4
B,J        NC

It came with a full range of power supplies (hand generator, 12/24/115 supply 
and gasoline powered generator).  The PU-158/U gas generator reminds me of 
the 12 volt one for the MAR, although I haven't compared physical size.  The 
PP-272/U supply is about the same size as the radio.  The G-28A/U looks like a 
G-43/GR (cast case with bolt-on top) and sits on a tripod stand.
