I have to agree that the BC-348R is the better radio,
having compared the two, I have an RCA model that I
recently restored, it has been aligned perfectly, the
wiring placement & layout is exactly as original, no
'ham' mods. I was lucky that I didn't have to replace
any of the original capacitors. It's super sensitive
on all bands, has less drift than a Yaesu FRG-7, & the
crystal filter works as it should, with little drop in
audio level when it is switched in to a received
signal. I'd sure want a radio like this on any WWII
aircraft mission I flew in,
