I'm working on redistributing the estate of a SK friend of 40+ years and
today found a couple of chassis that appear to be a crystal filters and
a crystal filter & IF /detector:
*************
Chassis 1 has 3 IF transformers, one marked 455 KHz, and 4 ctrystals.
This seems to be a home brew filter. The components are cxonnected IFT
-- 2 xtals -- IFT ---2xtals -- IFT. The crystals are about 1.125 square
and .375 thick and are socketed. There are no tubes in the thing.
Construction is fair. They are marked: marked:
Chan 42 24.2 MHz & Chan 324 32.4 MHz. The second pair are likely the
same, but one is missing its name plate.
*************
Chassis 2 has 2 IF transformers, 6 tubes, 6 crystals in cases as above
and what appears to be an audio output transformer. It's home brew, and
at a guess is a crystalk filter and detector.. Controls are a rotary
switch, two toggle switches, and a pot. Construction is fair.
The circuit appears to be;
IFT - tube - IFT - xtal pair - xtal pair - tube - IFT - 2 tubes - xtal
pair - tube - tube - output xfmr
The crystals are:
1st pair: Chan 316 31.6 MHz & Chan 318 31.8 MHz
2nd pair: Chan 37 23.7 MHz & Chan 38 23.8 MHz
3rd pair Chan 37 23.7 MHz & Chan 38 23.8 MHz
***********
If you are interested, please email me off list. Thanks for looking,
-John
