Every installation of an RDF or ADF that I've seen, such as the SCR-269 sets on all the major WWII aircraft, the installation was completely independent of all other radio gear on board, except perhaps a marker beacon receiver stealing some power from the larger set.  The DF gear would have its own loop, and its own sense antenna, sharing no antenna with other radio sets.
