The BC-602-B is more common.  The A-model has a second small connector at the rear that was supposed to go to a variable length antenna system that was never produced.  That serves no purpose, so the B-model has only one connector.

The JB-29-A was another item that was quickly eliminated from use, when cable open wiring harnesses became the norm.  Not using the JB-29 saves having to come up with a whole bunch of connectors.

The PE-98 would operate the set from 12 vdc (SCR-524).

The common CR-1A/AR crystals work and are more common.
