I guess if you have a 'local' BC 659 to set the Abbott transmitter 
against, you could do it.  Generally, crystal controlled receivers 
and modulated oscillator transmitters don't mix well.  And, the 
slight offset between the receiver frequency and transmitted 
conglomerate usually leads to "walking" across the tuning range when 
2 or more modulated osc./superregen rx boxes are in contact.  Need 1 
(or more) xtal tx in the mix to anchor the net.

Sure wish I remembered what I happened to my DK-3 I converted to 2 
meters by replacing the 6J5 with a 6C4.  Musta modified the coil too, 
but that detail is gone.
