Ah, yes....the Avianca 707. Not only did they run the tanks dry, they
flew in a holding pattern for awhile and didn't say anything about
having an emergency or critical fuel situation. Reason given: poor
understanding of the english language. Half the people on board killed
and a helluva mess in someone's backyard. Radios did them no good,
apparently.
