The blade notch turns when and the locking nut turns with the 
adjustment, turn, of the blade.  I was under the impression maybe 
wrongly so that holding the blade notch steady with a screwdriver one 
could tighten or loosen the nut.  When this did not work on my test 
piece I clamped the plates from moving attempted to loosen the nut and 
slipping the plates out of the shaft.  So maybe the present nut location 
is as tight as it gets based on the tension supplied by the spring.  I 
may have to replace band 6 OSC air trimmer capacitor.  Used 3in1 oil on 
screw for 1/2 hour before attempting the following task.

Hammond MFG seems to still manufacture these Air Padders.  Is there 
another source?
