Ray,
That's interesting statistics. I only have one recommendation. If anyone is
building even just mentally a list of hot, warm and cold sets, in the case of
for example the TBX/TBO and TBY it's important to take note (record) the
model number at least until we know that all nine TBY and all ten TBX/TBO models
have been tested with more than one example. We know from what you reported
that some TBX/TBO are hot and some aren't, but we still don't know which. And
some will now conclude that all TBY's are hot, which we don't actually know to
be the case. We don't know, that I am aware of, what year radium bearing
paint started being used. Date ranges (probably contract date and also probably
fiscal year) on the sets is as follows:
TBO...TBO-1 1935-36
TBX...TBX-8 1939-43
TBY...TBY-8 1940-43
As an interesting bit of trivia, description of the TBY-(*) changed from UHF
Portable... to VHF Portable... in 1941. :-)
