BTW, i have a few pages of lists of equipment to be disposed of
by some gov't organization, something like "War Assets Administration",
and the first prices they were asking were, while less than what Sam paid,
still crazy high. No ham or hobbyist would have paid those kind of prices,
which were as high as new hamgear. Other countries were also tired and
strapped after the war, so i don't imagine there was much of a market.
These were prices around 1946 - 47. Prices seem to have been held this
way for a while, then plummeted. Except for a while the gov't was buying
back some pieces of surplus gear for the Korean War - BC-312, ART-13,
ARC vhf gear? - Hue Miller
