[Milsurplus] AN/GRC-9

I seem to remember the FAIR RADIO price for the GRC-9 as $50.
Maybe this was the starting price, and it went up as the supply
diminished. Didn't they also have ones in various states of overhaul,
like unpainted ones, and receiver units only, and maybe transmitters
only?
I included an extra $10 for a "select" one, something i always did when
buying from surplus dealers remotely. That helped ( i hope!). I
specified to FAIR i wanted one of the "squared off corners" (less
radiused) models.
I always have thought FAIR's prices on GRC-9 (and GRC-109, come
to think of it) were really a bargain. GRC-9 prices that i saw, before
FAIR got their batch, varied up to twice what FAIR wanted, in fact
i paid that. That was maybe before the big GRC-9 dumping started,
when they seemed to only get out via MARS program and then into
other hands.
I think of those sets as sort of the "last of the classic surplus". -Hue
