Subject: [armyradios] R-807 Vs ART-13

Hi All,

I now have the Russian R-807 that is the copy of the Collins ART-13/ATC
transmitter. Amazing, great workmanship, and the only change that I can
see
between the R-807 and the ART-13 is that instead of a 12SA7 and a 12SL7,
they used the 6 volt version 6SA7 and 6SL7. It also appears that this
radio
was possibly made as late as 1978, the tubes are late 70s, and are
stamped
that they were checked in the period from 1982 to 1992, which indicates
that
the radio was in use at least through that period. The date codes on
many
of the parts such as caps and coils are apparently late to mid 70s. I
also
received the dynamotor and the low freq antenna tuner, plus the straight
key. All appear to be in very good condition, and well cared for. I will
try to see what aircraft this set came out of, and also see if there is
any
information as to when it or the series were taken out of service. I now
have an almost complete system with the RPS receiver and the R-807
transmitter. Now to get them on the air from Muscat.

Cheers,
