In the car vein, we're sorta in same stuffy min-set the
British ads for the SeaGull outboard showed in the 50s

  "World's Best Outboard"

How you gonna ski behind that (bronze age) thing" a did'd ask

SCR-269/ARN-7 servo-driven loop ADF missed thread. ART-13/TCS &
autotoon missed too. Talk about a Mechano set

Big 10-4 on APN-1, BC-1000, SCR-508/etc

And on DLs being mountain kings in VHF radar. Don't think they
'invented' the ring osc. per SCR-268, CXan, etc. Just ganged
||-line oscillators to one that was 'squegging' @ perhaps 3000
pps (30 mi. range). Kinda grandaddy superregen notion.

ASB-7 did that. MESSY to max.

On SCR-522 being unlike 2-set British progenitor (E1148?).
Look inside black case @ BC-624 & BC-625. Suplize!

British invented 90/150 hz 110 mhz localizer (bc-733). Not
to stop there, we used 90/150 in glide-slope (arn5) AND
inner/outer markers (around no-tone middle marker)

But the BEST exhibit of our ingenuity
