German equipment has its attractions, i'd say among them pretty good
ergonomics
and "big picture" front panels. However most of the designs date to the
military
pre-war ramp up and even the FuG16 aircraft low-VHF set looks set at about
1941
technology. Of course, maybe producing that was even some accomplishment,
considering the pounding their war machine and industry was taking, and also
having
to continually watch over a slave empire. Such equipment as the ARC-1,
SCR-594/
BC-1306, SCR-300/ BC-1000, PPN-2, MN-26 and other ADFs, ART-13, aircraft
radars,
the proximity fuze, minature and submini tubes, this gear was light years
ahead of
anything the axis was producing. -Hue Miller
