Possibly all your solutions will work to some extent.I have a similar
problem with a switch in my GO-9.A swap meet "knob twister" cranked on
it and busted up the ceramic on the rotor.I have a replacement but have
yet(how many years has it been?) to get in there and do the work. These
large ceramic switchs have pretty stiff springs for the detent and need
to be lubed;otherwise it takes a lot of torque to rotate and old
ceramic seems to get brittle with age.Someone on this or another
related list recently mentioned JB Weld.I've never used it so have no
clue if it would work on a switch. It may be impregnated with metal and
thus be a source of arc over in a high RF voltage situation.
Good luck and keep us posted as to your results.

Subject: [Milsurplus] Ceramic wafer switch repair on a TBX-2
Groups;
I have a TBX-2 I've started working on, and noticed that the
fine
inductance rotary switch, which is a ceramic wafer with eight contacts,
is
broken in three pieces.
First question, anybody got a spare ??
Second question, failing finding a replacement, is it possible
to fix
this thing. One of the three pieces is still on the long bolts that
mount this
switch to the next one. The other big piece is loose hanging on it's
stiff wires
and looks like it can be glued back into place. But, the third little
piece,
which only has two contacts seems to be missing material on both ends
where the
holes would have been to mount the wafer. If I glue the two bigger
pieces back
together, is there some kind of "filler" that would allow me to glue
the third
piece back in place, or, is it possible to "sister" a piece of hard
plastic to
the piece of ceramic with some glue and then use the new piece hold the
switch
together?
73 + tnx
