Well,this thread certainly stirred the soup.
  I can  understand how some amplifier tubes will outperform others of 
the same type but rectifiers???I always thought PIV and current 
capacity were the things to think about.
  I'm no phool but will admit my McIntosh MC-30's do sound good with 
line cord speaker wire and the supplied power cords.The 6L6's are no 
longer matched but still perform well as far as I can tell.Led 
Zepplin,the Rolling Stones, and Wagner all sound pretty good to these 
old ears!
