  Try and buy the parts you would need to build a radio,even a crystal 
radio,from Radio Sh*#! I remind them every time I go in.
  They do have stuff that I need on occasion.My father told me that RS 
has the fastest turn of battery stock of any retailer and thus has 
fresher batteries.My daughter did a science fair project compareing 
three major battery brands includind RS.We built a demo board with six 
"D" battery holders,three lamp sockets and lamps and three knife 
switches,all from RS.The goal was to simulate three flashlights,each 
with a different brand of alkyline D cells.She was quite successful in 
proving that all three battery brands were equal in capacity over a one 
month twice daily 15 minute test.The RS are cheaper and that's what I 
buy.
 My two PRC-6's are powered by RS batteries and soon the PRC-10's.
