Hi Leigh,

I don't have any info to help, but I suspect that the DY-8/ASQ-3 component that you mention is an incorrect designation.  The "DY-8" designation was assigned to the dynamotor for the MD-7/ARC-5 (DY-8/ARC-5).  There should never be a DY-8 assigned to two different dynamotors, in the JAN system.  It may be possible that the DY-8/ARC-5 was used in the AN/ASQ-3, in which case it would still retain the "/ARC-5" at the end of the completed component nomenclature.
