Larry,

The numbers themselves will be valid as long as the US survives.  You can 
cross WW-II Signal Corps Stock Numbers forward for typically two generations.  
The only thing it means when the numbers or the cross-ref disappears from the 
catalogs is that you can't order them through the system anymore.  But they will 
always mean whatever they meant.  In other words, they will always be valid.  
You just may not be able to "buy" them anymore.
