[Milsurplus] RE: Meissner exciter / 150B transmitter

Hi:

Found an interesting Meissner exciter last night. Data plate says:

Part of Model 150B transmitting equipment
Meissner exciter Unit Type 02433
It's a 6F6 6L6 1 mhz - 12.6 mhz
 plug - in coils (present in circuit and drawer)
Also has a pull out drawer at the bottom 
I think this may be a militarized version of the older Signal Shifter.
Any thoughts on the military version?
Whats a 150B transmitter?
