I am finishing up on reverse engineering the PA for a GRC-215. Does anyone
have info on this set? It uses a pair of 40 Watt transistors in the PA. The
driver takes 500 mW. It appears to be segmented into 4 bands. The input top
the PA has a circuit that appears to linearize the input so that the PA
puts out the same power across the band.
The PA is fed 24 VDC via a rather small, about AWG 24, wire. The
transistors are capable of drawing 15 Amps when driven to full output (from
the transistor spec sheets). It appears from the size of the wire feeding
the PA that it produces significantly less than maximum power. What was the
power out for this amplifier? What would the ALC voltage be?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
