They still do, as does the FAA:
yellow: serviceable
green : repairable
red: condemmed
white: ID only, no claim as to servicability (FAA)

I think there is some disagreement about the exact meaning of the red 
tags.  They are supposed to mean "Beyond Economical Repair".  I found 
that these days this usually means "I am totally clueless about what 
the heck is wrong with this so make it go away."  A situation which 
was very rare back when the services were populated with trained 
repairmen, but all too common now because no one knows how to fix 
anything.  Over 5 years ago I was told by a young entry level 
GI: "They don't teach soldering in A school anymore."  "Just unplug 
and replace cards until it works."

Or not.
