If the PE-206 inverter has a carbon pile regulator like the 800-1
inverter, connect the feedback line between the compensating capacitor
and the load. The GO-9 has this connection brought out, labeled "F,"
without comment. I brought it out on my TBW, and regulation improved to
about 0.2 volt from 0.5 volt. Theoretically, when reactance is
neutralized it disappears and it shouldn't make any difference, but in
reality it does. If the PE-206 has saturating poles and is
self-regulating, you have a problem with the variac impedance.
See http://aafradio.org/index.htm om Mike Hanz's web site for
information on the 800-1 and carbon pile adjustment.
