If the PE-206 inverter has a carbon pile regulator like the 800-1 
inverter, connect the feedback line between the compensating capacitor 
and the load.  The GO-9 has this connection brought out, labeled "F," 
without comment.  I brought it out on my TBW, and regulation improved to 
about 0.2 volt from 0.5 volt.  Theoretically, when reactance is 
neutralized it disappears and it shouldn't make any difference, but in 
reality it does.  If the PE-206 has saturating poles and is 
self-regulating, you have a problem with the variac impedance.
