The US Navy version of the HRO was the RAS, that is a copy based on the
HRO jr. receiver with the IF changed to 175 Kc and a 6v6 used for audio
output. RAS 3 and 5 that I have seen have date codes of 1938 and 42. do
not know of any that were used for shipboard operation although have
been told they were but yet to see a picture, but they were used in
shore operations. look at Arbo Lake site:
http://jproc.ca/rrp/albro_lake.html
Have been told by several; people that HRO-M was military but do not
think it was, at least in US Navy. have no idea what the difference is
between regular HRO and HRO-M
The RAS uses 6D6 and 6C6 tubes, but their are eight pins in their too
because the 6V6 in the output and think the detector was eight pin
although the one I have I replaced with the modified limiter kit.

At what stage did the US Navy use the Nationl HRO??
Did they use the original 6 pin tube version? & if so
what is the TM number of the manual?
                                      Regards, Brad
