If you know someone employed in electronic assembly you could have them
use a hot plate.Where I used to work we used them for surface mount
assembly of pc boards.Shouldn't hurt the terminals if done right.

I rebuilt the cans in my BC-348H. About the only way to get them open
is with a propane torch. I took a piece of 1x4 and put two wood screws
in it to hold the can by its mounting feet updside down. I put the 1x4
over an old coffee can to catch the drippin's. Using the torch I melted
the solder along one side of the cans top cap. Once it was molten I
used an acid brush to remove the solder. I continued doing this to the
3 remaining sides until enough of the solder was removed that I could
pop the top off with a small screw driver and a little more heat.
About the only drawback is that the terminals are insulated with a red
rubber material that does not like heat. I didn't bother to do this but
I suppose you could take the terminal apart to remove the insulating
material and replace it with some red RTV silicone.
