Al,
If the antenna is in fact an AN-190, it is part of Modification Kit MC-619.
However, there were similar antennas made for some of the other radios, mostly
Korean War vintage. The AN-190 should have an MS (or AN) connector on the
end of the cord, and the tuning dial should show numerals between 3.5 and 6.
That should be enough to ID whether it is or isn't an AN-190.
The complete kit included a BC-1387 coupling unit from the top of the BC-611
and a rectangular block (box) with phone jack to attach to the bottom cover
(no nomenclature). The box is not needed if the radio is a late BC-611-F. I
don't have any of either part left but I have seen them turn up on eBay from
time to time. Including once a radio with the box on the bottom but no coupling
unit. And a seller who didn't know what he was selling (no surprise there!).
MC-619 is covered in TM 11-235 05/31/45 and also in MWO SIG 11-235-5 and TB
SIG 11-235-8.
