John I'm dumbfounded by the DeOxit craze. $18 for a treeny can of stuff
which @ Dayton was deemed a bargain. Pep Boys sells 16oz cans of
their stuff for $3.99 that smells the same
DeOxit has become such a fad that there may be a market for DeOxit drip
pans to recover juice from regularly-treated sets. Sorta like they
place under certain acft while parked.
I THINK most switch trub comes from "clamp contacts" that have
taken a set after a half century. Relaxed is another descriptor
Relaxed or not, accelerated cleaning might be tried with a piece of stiff
cambric paper scootched between the teeny contact jaws. That's
helped me b4.
Last gasp is pushing the teeny contact jaw a bit out of plumb so it'll
snug up when the blade comes by.
Love to see other opinions
