[Milsurplus] Delayed responses and a favor

Hi, folks,

I’m afraid I’ve been kind of tied up lately, and not in a good way. On the
23rd of April, I managed to take a fall and when I didn’t heal according to MY
schedule, I took the damage to the hospital (Read as: I’m agoraphobic and just
being out of the apartment was NOT a good thing in itself, and was largely
responsible for the four day delay in going to the doctors. As it was, I
didn’t even drive myself which is also not a good sign.) where they had the
outrageous nerve to keep me! I handled myself as best I could for several days
but being surrounded by people – especially those bearing sharp objects – did
not set well and I checked out, promising to be good, get rest, eat my spinach
and do whatever other forms of self-punishment they deemed necessary.

Anyway, I’m up and about a bit, almost feeling like my normal self again
(which, I hasten to add, is nowhere near the normally accepted definition of
“normal”) and am back pecking away at the keyboard a bit to keep from going
stark raving sane. Even so, it’s in short bursts and nowhere near what it
should be or has been or shall be again, I hope.

So now I need volunteers. There are two EXCEL files here on my computer
related to the new book, one being all the A.R.C. radio products I could find
as well as some non-A.R.C. adjunct units like the ARR-1 & ARR-2 and the
connectors (but not including the connector diagrams which I haven’t finished
yet), and the other being the basic timeline I want to use for the history part
of the book. I need people to look them over to see if I’ve missed anything,
add anything they might know about that I don’t (which I’m sure is plenty),
comment upon, or anything else that comes to mind. I can convert these to WORD
documents if that’s preferred. One thing I do ask is that anyone who does make
changes, do so in color so I can find them. (And, no, white isn’t a good
choice! <G>)

Right now, I see a history part, a part that has the expanded lists, a part on
what was done with the sets (with a firm warning that doing ANYTHING to virgin
or restorable units is a crime for which there is no adequate punishment but my
friend Mango the Messy, son of Mingo the Moribund and 3rd cousin twice removed
– but he kept coming back – to Mongo the Merciless, will do his best), and
finally a few samples of how they were originally interconnected should someone
want to build up a display, working preferably.

In the meantime, I’m slowly building up the parts inventory for the antenna
adapters, as well as Morse taper and other adapters for some mini lathes
(including watchmaker’s lathes) that lack them, wooden pens and a few other
items to help make up the shortfall between my pension and the direct and
indirect affects of the outrageous increases in fuel costs. NO eBay sales

local and lists only, and the local ones will likely be consignment. (On
reflection, some of the lathe adapters will likely go to a friend of mine who
does do eBay sales in exchange for scrap metal, welding supplies etc.)

Anyway, that’s my story and I’m sticking with it
unless I get a better offer.

Best regards,

Kludge
