[Milsurplus] BC-342 Help Needed

Thank you to everyone who responded to my cries for help. Your
suggestions were very helpful.

The problem was in the 2nd AF socket. I resoldered the heater leads and
cleaned the socket with Deoxit. So far, so good.

Performance is pretty hot on the lower bands (8 mHz and below) but not
so hot above 8 mHz. Any ideas?

I still have some work to do. Most of the oil-filled caps in this set
test leaky to one degree or another, so I'll be replacing them.

Most of the tubes are JAN tubes and they all test good. That surprised
me.

The set has not been heavily modified. Sensitivity is decent.
Selectivity is mediocre, but I suspect that an alignment will help with
that.

The set seems to work a lot better with headphones than with a speaker
(yes, I am using a speaker of the correct impedance). I guess that's
because it was made to work primarily with headphones.

All in all, it's a nice set.  I'll keep you posted.
