Lloyd the History channel ran one on acft. carrier Midway last week.

She was built on a incomplete BATTLESHIP hull in '46+ & served up thru
& beyond Viet Nam.

Same History channel ran one like the D-day thing.  This was called

  Pacific:  The lost footage - Guam

Once again old air-recon movies computer-merged with topos.  Very neat.
Lots of interviews with well-spoken survivors & action footage.

One thing used there were sea-going armored tractors.  Amtracks.
Had never heard name so used.  Looks like fed. passenger rwy folks
boosted the term

Amazingly Guadalcanal Diary ('44) ran on Turner Classic just b4.  The
TIVO nabbed 'em both.
