Group,

An aquaintance from years past from Mission, TX was at the Brent Mullins' MV
open house this week. He has an M4 Sherman (I forgot to ask which variant)
with an SCR-508 (or more likely SCR-528) installed. He knows essentially
nothing about radios and had an older gentleman helping him. But the helper's
health has gotten so bad that he can't crawl into the tank any more. The radios
have supposedly been thoroughly gone through (on the bench) and supposedly work
fine. But the tank's owner needs someone to check out the radio and
interphone associated wiring in the tank, and do the final antenna tuning tweaks on the
BC-604. He has been warned that he can't legally use the transmitter but
needs the interphone working and wants to be able to answer "yes" if someone asks
whether the radio works or not.

Mission is 6 or 7 hours from Houston even if I had the time to be gone for
three or four days. If there's anyone on the list within easy driving distance
who could do the checkout, the owner would be quite appreciative. He will of
course pay for the work (although as I knew I couldn't go and do it, we didn't
discuss rates). If anyone can take care of it, contact me direct and I'll
add a few details and supply name, address and phone number.
